Community Protection and Support Activities and a New Paint Job!

Beneficial community events and private rentals continue while behind the scene our volunteers maintain the property.

Grange Support to Prevent Fires in North County – Jun 1st – 16th

Heavy rains this Spring caused a surge in tree growth near PG&E powerlines increasing the risk of tree fires as summer approaches to North County. This caused a difficulty for where to centrally park the crew trucks. As part of our mission to support community safety, the Grange offered use of our parking lot to Davey Trimming. Working together, Davey Trimming company and the Grange increased trimming hours by reducing trimming truck travel time and delays.

Fire District Training – Jun 2nd

For years the Grange has worked with the North County Fire District. The first week of June senior NCFD firemen trained a new driver by using the Grange parking lot. Our main hall and islands in our large parking lot are excellent for helping a driver to learn how to maneuver a large firetruck through varying sizes of curves and openings, as well as backing up near a structure.

Grange 388 Improvements May 23rd to June 12th

It’s been more than 20 years since the main Grange Hall’s exterior walls have been painted. After reviewing several bids, we selected Mike Chavez’s Fine Painting company to do the job.

Work began with extensive scraping-preparation of the exterior surfaces.

It was followed with priming all scraped areas and caulking all board joints.

Painting included blue around all the gutters, drain pipes, & windows. Also matiching the original paint color, along with the proper metal paint on the railings.

Grampa Car Club

Grampa Car Club every 4th Wednesday of the month – once a month except December from 5-9pm. Outdoors in our large parking lot.


SNIP – Spay and Neuter Saves Lives

The SnipBus organization has a 5-day block reserved to use the Youth Center each month for neutering North County cats. The 5-day block always contains the 1st Wednesday of the month occurs. Trapping and housing of feral cats occurs two days before neutering and 1 day of recovery after surgery.

Daily County Sheriff Usage 
The presence of Sheriff patrol cars in North County is helped by allowing deputies to use our parking lot for coordination meetings, writing patrol notes, or eating their lunch.

4-H

North County 4-H meets on two Mondays each month during the 3rd, 4th, and/or 5th weeks.

MEMBER’S MEETINGS

Grange Meeting every 2nd Thursday each month. The Grange is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in more than 2,100 hometowns across America. We have nearly 150 years of history, a spirit of grassroots advocacy, and a fraternal spirit that we’re happy to share with you.
2nd Thursday of every month in the Large Hall.
